How do you count words?
Words are counted by splitting text on whitespace. Each continuous run of non-space characters is one word. Hyphenated words like 'well-known' count as one.
What is keyword density?
The percentage of times a keyword appears compared to total words. For SEO, 1–2% density helps search engines understand content without spam signals.
Ideal word count for a blog post?
1,500–2,500 words typically rank better because they give comprehensive coverage. Topic complexity and user intent matter too.
How is reading time calculated?
Based on the average adult reading speed of 225 words per minute.
Does character count include spaces?
We provide both. Twitter counts spaces; some SMS billing systems do not.
